Sem 2 is about to start in few days. Students are getting over of sem1 and getting ready for semester 2. One of our classmates Manoj had written poem on our journey of MBA and very well depicted our emotions, feelings and experience throughout 1st sem. It goes like below. An 'estimate’ of BITS WILP  The bug of MBA,  bit me the other night, It's never too late, it goaded me day and night. Broke some savings, paid for it alright, In earnest it started, My quest for MBA, rather bright! Bashed with oligopoly, cournot And Nash, Least she could have done,  Was answer questions on time ! Then came QM,  “oops” ing it's way in, He had an estimate,  and saw us through alright! FMA was new, and knowledge her asset, Audio but remained though,  A liability in her balance sheet! MPO just stormed and normed, On leadership and such lore, By the end of her sessions, I was “self actualized”! Weekends buzzed past,  before I realised, Sem was over,  and exams done with Me, for one, missed those exams this time, My opportunity cost...

In 1st semester we have below 4 subjects. Financial Management and Accounting Managerial Economics Quantitative Methods Managing People and Organization.

Once enrolled, we got welcome message with credentials such as eportal login and email. I logged into portal and started exploring.  Eportal has quite a few features such as discussion forums, Q and A threads to lecturers. We are given BITS emails.Some of us started threads for whatsapp groups. I started whatsapp group initially for MBA finance 1st sem students. With in no time realized subjects are common for all streams of MBA such as finance, consulting, manufacturing management and Quality management. Eventually, the group is converted to MBA group for all streams. That's how we came to know about other students.  Classes started on 7th January 2017 Quiz 1 on 1st week of February 2017 Quiz 2 on 1st week of March 2017 Mid sem regular exams on 25th and 26th February Mid sem make up exams on 18th and 19th March End sem regular exams on 8th April and 9th April End sem make up exams on  22nd and 23rd April. It was November 2016, one of my friends relocated to Singapore on his job assignment. He was one of my flatmates while I was working in Bangalore. We decided to meet in Singapore as soon as he arrived. He came to my place. While chit chat he brought the topic of his recent exams' preparation for his 3rd sem of M. Tech. When I probed more details came to know about Work Integrated Learning Program (WILP) of BITS Pilani. I inquired further details about curriculum program, exams, fee and duration etc. Needless to say , few things really grabbed my attention such as flexible semesters, more flexible exam dates, weightage of marks to each component such as quiz, mid sem, experiential learning and end exams. In addition, I have been reluctant and hesitant about by-hearting contents etc after more than a decade since my graduation. However, open book exam enticed me to enroll course.
